End Date: October 6, 2017
Time: 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

Description

Substance abuse frequently co-occurs with Borderline Personality Disorder and may cause heightened symptoms in either disorder. The co-occurrence of the two disorders can cause severe emotional dysregulation, increase the probability of relapse and poor treatment outcomes, and increase the risk of suicide. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is proving to be a valuable tool when it comes to treating both substance abuse and emotion dysregulation. This workshop will provide an overview of how this well-researched modality is used to help clients struggling with substance abuse and introduce you to some DBT skills that can be taught to your clients. After attending this workshop, you will be able to:

2.0 CE credits available for psychologists, MFTs, LCSWs, LEPs, and LPCCs.
Must attend the entire day and complete the distributed evaluation form to receive full credit. Partial credit is not allowed. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time or leaving before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credit.

Cost: $35.00 (includes lunch)
