DBT & Prolonged Exposure Lunch & Learn

This workshop will describe the basic tenets of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and how this treatment addresses the symptoms that arise in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). We will review the symptom presentation of BPD and how Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms may occur in conjunction with BPD.  We will discuss the basic tenets of Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy and how this therapy treats PTSD. Finally, we will describe how DBT and PE work together in one combined protocol to address the presentation of trauma symptoms with co-occurring BPD symptoms.

Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify 2 symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder
  2. Identify 2 symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  3. Describe the basic tenets of Prolonged Exposure Therapy
