End Date: April 14, 2018
Time: 8:15 am to 4:30 pm

Clearview is proud to sponser this advanced Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training. When emotional exposure is used in DBT it is dictated by the DBT case formulation. Informal exposure is used to treat in-session avoidance in Stage 1. Informal exposure is also the behavioral intervention that specifically targets emotional avoidance when identified through behavioral chain analysis as a controlling variable for problem behavior. Formal Exposure is the primary treatment intervention for Stage 2 of DBT.

This training will be helpful for therapists who are in the process of certification through the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification ( as well as those preparing for the certification process. It meets partial requirements for training and will be a valuable tool for applicants as they enter the work sample demonstration requirements (formal case conceptualization and adherence through recorded sessions).

This training is designed for anyone with experience with individual psychotherapy in DBT.  It will assume a strong baseline knowledge of the structure and components of treatment.  Trainers will not take time to orient to basic content of DBT. Prior training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and substantial experience providing DBT individual psychotherapy is expected.
